Level Description
Aware
  • Can describe key terms and fundamental concepts involved in identifying and investigating anomalies, assessing performance, and preparing reports.
  • Can describe basic performance metrics, telemetry, and data analysis techniques used in monitoring system reliability.
Practitioner
  • Can support the identification and investigation of anomalies at key mission stages (e.g. during LEOP or end-of-life operations).
  • Can assist in performance assessments, and contribute to the preparation of reports detailing findings and recommendations.
  • Can apply standard procedures to help analyse data, document issues, and provide actionable insights to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Can communicate with management and customers to develop key performance measures and targets and reporting requirements for each mission taking account of customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) where relevant.
Senior Practitioner
  • Can lead anomaly investigations, identify root causes and propose corrective actions.
  • Can lead the preparation of reports detailing findings and recommendations.
  • Can set priority levels for service restoration and maintenance activities.
  • Can create dashboards and visualisation tools to track mission, spacecraft, and ground operations performance.
  • Can communicate with cross-functional teams, manage the investigation processes, and ensure that findings are effectively communicated and addressed.
Expert
  • Can explain relevant international standards and specifications relating to the space industry, such as the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) and International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
  • Can develop and implement new methodologies for real-time performance monitoring, anomaly detection, and reporting.
