Test components

Test components, subsystems, and systems using a range of thermal-vacuum, electromagnetic compatibility, shock, and vibration techniques

Proficiency levels

Level Description
Aware
  • Can recognise key terms and fundamental concepts related to thermal-vacuum, electromagnetic compatibility, shock, and vibration testing techniques.
  • Can describe the significance of these tests in simulating space environments and ensuring components and systems perform reliably under operational conditions.
Practitioner
  • Can apply standard thermal-vacuum, electromagnetic compatibility, shock, and vibration testing techniques to evaluate the performance of components and systems.
  • Can follow established procedures to set up and calibrate test equipment, conduct tests, and analyse test results to verify compliance with specified requirements and standards.
  • Can supervise others in performing these tests.
Senior Practitioner
  • Can design and execute complex thermal-vacuum, electromagnetic compatibility, shock, and vibration tests, and interpret detailed results.
  • Can identify and resolve issues during testing, optimising test setups, and ensuring that all components and systems meet rigorous performance and reliability standards.
  • Can train and approve others to perform these tests.
Expert
  • Can innovate and develop new methodologies and technologies for advanced thermal-vacuum, EMC, shock, and vibration testing.
  • Can certify test processes and approve others to perform these tests independently.
